This high-level conference will be hosted by the European Commission. It will contribute to a wider political debate on the future of the EU data Policy. Main topics on the agenda During the conference, discussions will focus on: Digital Omnibus: Simplifying the EU data rulebook, reducing administrative burden and supporting innovation Data for industrial AI: Improving access to high-quality data through the Data Act International data flows: Promoting open and trusted data flows and securing fair treatment for EU companies abroad The agenda will be published here. Background European companies and researchers need better access to high-quality data to develop and deploy AI. The Data Union Strategy sets out practical measures to increase data availability and strengthen Europe’s data infrastructure. The Commission is also working to simplify the EU’s digital rules. Building on the Data Act and other existing legislation, the aim is to reduce unnecessary burdens and make it easier for companies to use and share data. Internationally, the Commission seeks to facilitate trusted cross-border data flows and address unfair restrictions faced by EU companies in other markets.
